Z1R has made economical cool again with its exciting Roost and Roost Jr. helmets. By utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and some out-of-the-box thinking, the engineers at Z1R have successfully created the ultimate compromise between performance and price.
The helmet provides high-end features that literally belie its modest price. With five hot color schemes, the Roost looks like helmets costing two to three times as much. Rubber goggle grabbers on each side of the eyeport help keep goggles in place during aggressive riding. Dual venting holes in the forehead provide needed relief in hot weather and are closeable for those cold mornings on the trail. Attention to detail all the way down to the alloy visor screws means the only way to know this is a budget helmet is to see the price tag.
A removable, washable liner lets you can keep your Roost smelling fresh no matter how hard you ride. The unique molded-in mouth piece has washable filter foam, as well. A brushed nylon interior with padded chin strap make the Roost feel like a much more expensive helmet and helps keep it comfortable for all-day rides under virtually any condition.
All those trick features don’t come at the expense of protection either. The Roost’s advanced ABS Polycarbonate alloy construction is fully DOT approved for serious trail use. The shell comes in two sizes to provide a better fit than its one-size-fits-all competition. Optional sized cheekpads offer an even more custom fit for those riders whose faces fall outside the established “norm.” A fully padded chin bar rounds out the most protective budget helmet you can buy.
Of course, all Z1R helmets feature the “Perfect Fit”—a unique head form shaped in a round/oval versus the more commonly found round form found in many other helmet brands. This fit reduces, or completely eliminates, pressure points.
